Driver Fleeing Crash Involving Pedestrian in South Austin Sought by Police
On November 23, 2024, at approximately 6:35 p.m., the Austin Police Department (APD), along with Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services and the Austin Fire Department, responded to a failure to stop and render aid crash in the 7800 block of S 1st St.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of a small black sedan, possibly a 2019-2023 Toyota Corolla, struck a vehicle and a pedestrian before fleeing the scene without providing assistance. The pedestrian sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities are looking for a vehicle with front-end collision damage and a missing passenger side mirror. The investigation is ongoing.
