Driver Crashes During Pursuit, Both Teen Occupants Arrested in Harris County

On July 23, 2024, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3400 North Sam Houston Parkway West. The driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit.

During the pursuit, the driver lost control and crashed into the barrier wall. The driver was apprehended and identified as 18-year-old Alex Nguyen. The passenger ignored all verbal commands given to him. While attempting to detain him, he physically resisted. After a brief struggle, he was detained and identified as 17-year-old Jonathan Wood.

Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Alex Nguyen was charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. His bond has not been set out of the 185th District Court. Jonathan Wood was charged with Interference with the Duties of a Public Servant. His bond was set at $100 out of County Court 16.
