Driver Arrested in Fatal Northwest Houston Crash That Killed 24-Year-Old Woman

HOUSTON, Texas — A driver has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal crash early Saturday morning in northwest Houston, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, the collision occurred around 2:20 a.m. April 25, 2026, in the 3900 block of Gessner Road.
Investigators said a white Ford Fusion traveling southbound collided with a blue Honda Accord that was attempting to make a left turn while traveling northbound.
The driver and passenger in the Honda, both women, were transported to a local hospital. The passenger, identified as 24-year-old Karla Perez, later died from her injuries.
Police identified the driver of the Ford as 23-year-old Leonardo Josue Martinez Marquez. Authorities determined he was impaired and speeding at the time of the crash.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Martinez Marquez was arrested and charged with intoxicated manslaughter.
