Driver Arrested in Cypress After Evading Traffic Stop: Faces Third DWI and Drug Possession Charges

On December 15, 2023, deputies from Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 21400 block of Northwest Freeway in Cypress. The driver, identified as Richard Sung, refused to stop, prompting a brief pursuit by constable deputies. The vehicle was successfully halted, leading to Sung’s apprehension.

Upon inspection, Richard Sung exhibited multiple signs of intoxication, and a search revealed his possession of 4.1 grams of Cocaine. Further investigation disclosed that Sung had two prior convictions for Driving While Intoxicated.

As a result of the incident, Richard Sung was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. He faces charges of Evading in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Driving While Intoxicated – 3rd Offense. As of now, details regarding Sung’s bond and court information have not been determined.
