Detectives Seek Tips in West Harris County Fatal Shooting

Homicide detectives with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are seeking assistance in solving the murder of 34-year-old Jose Delacruz.

The shooting occurred on Sunday, August 24, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m. Deputies responded to a possible motor vehicle accident at an apartment complex in the 6400 block of Sierra Blanca Dr. in west Harris County. Upon arrival, deputies found Delacruz unresponsive, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing Delacruz speeding through the parking lot before crashing. They also observed two Black males dressed in dark clothing running from Delacruz’s vehicle shortly after hearing the gunshots.
