Deputies Apprehend Suspects After Foot Pursuit in Stolen Vehicle Case, Low Bond Amounts Questioned
Zalaydriane Hall and Malik Ellison

On November 30, 2023, deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 21100 block of Gosling Road in Spring, Texas. Witnesses at the scene informed law enforcement that individuals associated with the vehicle were seen exiting an apartment.

Upon arrival, Constable Deputies attempted to make contact with the suspects, later identified as 18-year-old Malik Ellison and 20-year-old Zalaydriane Hall. The duo, however, chose to evade the deputies on foot, leading to a pursuit by officers.

Following the foot chase, both suspects were successfully apprehended. Subsequent investigations revealed that the vehicle in question had been reported as stolen.

Ellison and Hall were subsequently arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Ellison faces charges of Evading Arrest and Criminal Trespass of a Motor Vehicle, with his bond set at $200.00 in County Court 15. Hall was charged with Evading Arrest, and her bond was set at $100.00, also in County Court 15.

The relatively low bond amounts have prompted questions among some Houston residents, who are curious about the factors influencing these decisions. The community is keen on understanding the rationale behind the bond amounts assigned to individuals facing charges related to a stolen vehicle and evading arrest.
