Deer Park Man Arrested on Meth Distribution Warrant After Narcotics Investigation
Robert John Smith Jr.

A lengthy narcotics investigation by the Precinct 8 Street Crimes Unit has led to the arrest of 21-year-old Robert John Smith Jr. on a warrant for Possession of Controlled Substances with Intent to Distribute, stemming from a raid in April that uncovered methamphetamine and marijuana.

On April 30, 2025, the Precinct 8 Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant in the 1300 block of Cedar Street in Deer Park. During the search, deputies located 8.62 pounds of marijuana, 22 orange pills labeled “AD30” (initially believed to be Adderall), and two firearms inside the residence. Smith was released at the scene pending laboratory test results on the suspected narcotics.

Subsequent testing confirmed that the orange pills labeled “AD30” tested positive for methamphetamine, not Adderall. An arrest warrant was then issued for Smith for Possession of Controlled Substances with Intent to Distribute.

On June 9, 2025, members of the Precinct 8 Street Crimes Unit conducted surveillance on Smith’s residence. When Smith left the location, he was stopped and arrested on the outstanding warrant. During the arrest, deputies found approximately 1.354 ounces of marijuana in his left front pocket. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted regarding the newly discovered marijuana but declined additional charges due to the existing felony warrant for controlled substances.

Smith was transported to the Joint Processing Center (JPC) and booked without incident.
