Deadly Shooting at Crosby Gas Station Sparks Investigation
On Thursday, February 1st, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) responded to a shooting at the Shell gas station located in the 13200 block of Crosby-Lynchburg, Crosby, TX. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a 17-year-old black male in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. The victim was LifeFlighted to Hermann hospital but was later pronounced deceased.
The alleged shooter, who remained at the scene, informed responding officers that he was in the process of selling a pistol to the deceased when the latter attempted to steal the firearm. A confrontation ensued, leading to the fatal shooting.
HCSO Homicide Investigators conducted interviews with the shooter and examined video surveillance footage of the incident. The gathered information, including the video evidence, has been shared with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. As of now, the case is being referred to a grand jury for further review, and charges are pending.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators believe that the victim arrived at the location accompanied by another unidentified individual.
