Cyclist Critically Injured in Austin Hit-and-Run

On Monday evening, February 5, 2024, Austin Police Department (APD) officers were called to the scene of a hit-and-run incident in the 10500 block of Dessau Road. The incident occurred around 6:54 p.m. when an unidentified vehicle struck a 59-year-old Hispanic female cyclist.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver fled the scene immediately after the collision without offering assistance or calling emergency services. The victim sustained multiple life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported to a local hospital for urgent medical care.

As of the latest update, the victim remains in critical condition.
