Conyers Police Lieutenant Arrested for Alleged Theft by Deception

Conyers, GA – On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the Conyers Police Department confirmed the arrest of Lieutenant Jesus Cadena following an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation into allegations of misappropriating donated property from a local business.
The GBI obtained an arrest warrant for Cadena on charges of Theft by Deception. He turned himself in to the Rockdale County Jail after being notified of the warrant.
In addition to the criminal investigation, the Conyers Police Department has launched an internal review to determine if departmental policies were violated. Cadena has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of this internal inquiry.

The GBI is handling inquiries related to the criminal case, while the internal investigation remains ongoing with no further details released at this time.
