Constable Patrol Targets Trespassing, Sidewalk Obstructions in Houston’s Hobby District

HOUSTON, Texas – Deputies with Harris County Constable Precinct 2 conducted a targeted enforcement operation Friday in Houston’s Hobby District following complaints from residents and business owners about blocked sidewalks and trespassing issues.
According to Constable Jerry Garcia’s office, deputies focused on areas where public walkways were obstructed and private property owners had active trespass affidavits on file authorizing law enforcement to remove unauthorized individuals from the properties.
Officials said the operation was aimed at improving public safety, accessibility, and compliance with local accessibility laws by clearing sidewalks and addressing unauthorized encampments and loitering.
During the operation, deputies arrested three individuals with outstanding warrants. Authorities also said three other individuals accepted assistance and began the process of entering transitional housing programs.
Precinct 2 officials stated the department continues working with local service providers to offer shelter options, mental health resources, and social services to people experiencing homelessness who are willing to accept assistance.
The constable’s office encouraged business and property owners in the Hobby District experiencing ongoing trespassing problems to file or renew trespass affidavits with local law enforcement, allowing deputies to take enforcement action even when property owners are not present.
