Conroe Officer Injured in Crash While Responding to Fatal Accident

CONROE, TX — A Conroe Police officer was injured Thursday afternoon while responding to a fatal crash on N. IH 45.
At approximately 12:30 p.m., Officer J. Dugas, part of the Traffic and Motor Units, was traveling westbound on N. Loop 336 W with lights and siren activated, following other emergency vehicles. At the intersection of N. Loop 336 W and the IH 45 service road, his motorcycle was struck by a white Ford F-150, causing a collision with a third vehicle and throwing Officer Dugas from his motorcycle.
Despite his injuries, Officer Dugas was able to call for help. Responding officers, the Conroe Fire Department, and Montgomery County EMS provided aid, and he was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other drivers involved remained at the scene and assisted.
The crash remains under investigation. The Conroe Police Department asks the community to keep Officer Dugas and his family in their thoughts and prayers.
