Bryan Man Sentenced to 35 Years for Armed Home Invasion Involving Infant and Sister of Ex-Girlfriend

On June 4, 2025, Judge David Hilburn sentenced Jor-Idan Webber to 35 years in prison for Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit a Felony. Webber also received 20-year sentences for two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and a one-year county jail sentence for Failure to Identify and Evading Arrest.
The charges stem from a September 16, 2023, home invasion in which Webber and two juveniles forced entry into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in Bryan. The trio, all wearing ski masks and armed, kicked in the door after learning that the woman’s new boyfriend was inside.
Inside the apartment at the time were Webber’s two-month-old daughter and his ex-girlfriend’s sister. According to prosecutors, Webber located the boyfriend hiding in a closet, ordered a co-conspirator to shoot into it, and instructed them to shoot the sister as well. Webber then fired four rounds into the apartment before fleeing. No injuries were reported despite eight shots being fired.
Webber was arrested days later after evading police and attempting to hide in a garbage can. Officers had anticipated his attempt to flee and took him into custody.
Webber and the juveniles involved are documented members of a local criminal street gang.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Jennifer Hebert and Caleb Beacham.
