Bryan Man Pleads Guilty to Murder of Alexis Walls, Sentenced to 50 Years

BRYAN, Texas – A Bryan man pleaded guilty Tuesday to the murder of Alexis Walls and was sentenced to 50 years in prison, closing a case that prosecutors said centered on the loss of a young mother whose life was taken far too soon.

On Feb. 3, 2026, Brandon Dickerson pleaded guilty in Bryan to murdering Walls, who was killed on Feb. 7, 2025. Judge Kyle Hawthorne imposed the 50-year sentence. According to court records, Dickerson called 911 after shooting Walls multiple times.
Walls was born Oct. 9, 2001, and was the youngest of three children. Family members described her as friendly, kind, and full of energy, earning the affectionate nickname “hurricane.” She was known for welcoming everyone she met and for being a source of joy to those around her. For her young son, Zaylen, she was his entire world.
With the consent of Walls’ family, prosecutors emphasized that her life should be remembered for the light she brought to others, not for the manner of her death. Her family is now raising her son, who is living with autism and, according to prosecutors, is doing well and thriving under their care.
The case was investigated by detectives with the Bryan Police Department. Prosecution was led by District Attorney Jarvis Parsons, along with Assistant District Attorneys Tiffany Larsen and Abigail Goodman, Investigator Michael Johse, and Victim Assistance Coordinator Melissa Carter.
Prosecutors also highlighted the broader issue of domestic violence, noting it remains a pervasive and deadly problem in the United States. They encouraged anyone experiencing abuse to seek help, emphasizing that support is available.

“Alexis was a light to everyone she met,” Parsons, Larsen, and Goodman said in a joint statement. “She was a loving mother, a beautiful daughter, and a considerate friend. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but her memory will live forever in their hearts.”
