Brazoria County Law Enforcement Teams Up for Successful Crime Interdiction Initiative
A joint operation led by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, Pearland Police Department, Alvin Police Department, and Precinct 4 Constable’s Office resulted in significant arrests and recoveries over a four-day period in northern Brazoria County.
The operation, aimed at addressing an uptick in holiday crime around local business districts, led to over 400 law enforcement contacts, 39 arrests, and the recovery of three stolen vehicles.
Key highlights of the operation include:
- Stolen Vehicle Recovered: Deputies located a car with a swapped VIN, which had been stolen from Brazoria County.
- Weapons and Drugs Seized: A traffic stop near Best Buy resulted in the seizure of a loaded handgun, a ski mask, and narcotics.
- Motorcycle Pursuit: A motorcycle fled from officers but was stopped when the engine failed, leading to the driver’s surrender.
- Foot Pursuit Arrest: A vehicle with a stolen license plate crashed during a pursuit, and a K9 unit tracked down and arrested the suspect.
