Body of Missing Man Found in Needville, TX Identified

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office (FBCSO) has identified the deceased male found on FM 361 in Needville as Enrique Godinez, 61. The investigation is ongoing.

On June 11, 2024, at approximately 1:13 PM, construction workers reported the discovery of a body in a drainage ditch in the 6900 block of FM 361 near Pine Meadow Lane. Responding deputies also found a damaged bicycle and vehicle debris at the scene.

The body was transported to the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office. On June 17, 2024, the decedent was identified as Enrique Godinez, who had been reported missing to the Rosenberg Police Department on May 28, 2024. He had been missing since May 19, 2024.

Further investigation revealed a call made to FBCSO dispatch by a Lamar Consolidated Independent School District officer on May 24, 2024, about an accident and stalled vehicle. An FBCSO deputy was dispatched, spoke with the driver, and completed a crash report.

FBCSO believes Godinez’s body had been in the area since May 24, 2024. The driver of the stalled vehicle is now a person of interest.

An internal investigation into the initial accident investigation by the FBCSO deputy is underway.

“Our sympathies are with the Godinez family,” said Sheriff Eric Fagan. “We are working diligently to piece together what happened at the scene.”
