Body Found Hanging from Tree in Needville Identified as Homicide Suspect

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a deceased male found hanging from a tree along a fence line in the 8400 block of Jeske Rd. in Needville, Texas. Deputies arrived and discovered a Hispanic male subject hanging from the tree.

The deceased has been tentatively identified as 24-year-old Jhon Vanegas Romero, a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide. His identification is based on the clothing he was wearing, identifiable tattoos, and a passport found on his person.

The body has been transported to the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office for a postmortem examination. Authorities are running his fingerprints through the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to confirm his identity. The investigation is ongoing.
