Beaumont Police Seek Suspect in Bar Bathroom Aggravated Assault

BEAUMONT, TX – Beaumont Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a suspect accused in a serious assault that left a man critically injured early Saturday morning.
Around 1:43 a.m. on January 17, 2026, officers with the Beaumont Police Department were dispatched to Jazz and Jokes, located at 695 Orleans Street, in reference to an assault in progress. When officers arrived, they found an adult male lying on the bathroom floor with a significant head injury.
Officers immediately rendered aid and requested EMS. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where medical staff determined he had sustained severe injuries. He remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
Following further investigation, detectives identified 30-year-old Fedro Gatlin Lassaint as the suspect in the aggravated assault. Lassaint is described as a Black male and currently has an active warrant for aggravated assault.
