Baytown Police Officer Involved in Fatal Crash, Claims Lives of Two Children

Baytown, TX – The Baytown Police Department has released an update on the ongoing investigation into a major crash involving a Baytown police officer that occurred on Friday.

Tragically, two siblings, ages 8 and 10, have died from injuries sustained in the collision. Two other siblings who were also in the vehicle remain hospitalized in critical condition.

Out of respect for the family, the department has not released the names of the children involved.

“This tragedy leaves us without words,” said Chief John Stringer. “Our hearts are heavy with sorrow for everyone impacted. As a father, I feel this loss deeply, and my heart breaks for everyone involved. We extend our sincerest condolences to the family during this heartbreaking time.”

The department emphasized that it is committed to conducting a complete, thorough, and transparent investigation into the circumstances of the crash. Officials said the investigation is complex, and they are working with outside partners to ensure it is completed both timely and thoroughly.
