Baytown Man Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges, K9 Officer Found Narcotics in Vehicle

The Baytown Police Department arrested 46-year-old Felipe Martinez III of Baytown on November 16, 2023. Martinez was apprehended for four outstanding felony warrants issued out of Refugio County, Texas.

The charges against Martinez include Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence, Money Laundering, and Money Services Act Violation. Currently held in the Harris County Jail, Martinez’s bond is set at $20,000.

The arrest unfolded during a routine traffic stop conducted by Baytown Police Department officers. A K-9 unit was deployed, and the police dog detected the odor of narcotics emanating from Martinez’s vehicle. Subsequent to the discovery, a search warrant was obtained, leading to the seizure of approximately 22 grams of methamphetamine from the vehicle.

In addition to the initial charges, Martinez now faces further allegations of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Penalty Group 1 (4 grams to <200 grams). The Baytown Police Department continues to investigate the case.
