Bar Owner Fatally Shot Inside Katy Establishment; Ex-Girlfriend Arrested at the Scene

Harris County investigators are looking into a fatal shooting that unfolded overnight inside a bar on the 20900 block of the Katy Freeway.

Deputies were called to the business shortly after the incident was reported. When they arrived, they found the owner, 48-year-old Hussein Ali, suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspected shooter, 47-year-old Latocha Muckleroy, remained at the bar when deputies arrived. Investigators say the two had previously been in a dating relationship, though the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still being pieced together by homicide detectives.

Muckleroy was taken into custody without further incident. She has been charged with murder and booked into the Harris County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives review evidence and interview witnesses.
