Austin Police Seek White Minivan Driver Linked to Triple Homicide Collision

The Austin Police Department is asking the public for help identifying the driver of a white minivan involved in a collision connected to the triple homicide that occurred on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Video from a private dash camera shows a Honda sedan being struck and spun out on the flyover from Research Boulevard northbound to Mopac Expressway. Shortly after, a stolen Toyota 4-Runner driven by suspect Ethan Nieneker collided with another vehicle, believed to be a white Dodge Caravan or similar minivan.

Detectives estimate the collision occurred around 2:18 p.m. during the chain of events following the triple homicide. Authorities want to speak with the minivan driver to determine whether any injuries occurred and to gather additional information. Additional charges may be filed as a result of the collision.
