Austin Police Seek Suspect Vehicle in Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

The Austin Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide Unit is seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at approximately 7:35 p.m.

The incident took place in the 600 block of W. Ben White SVRD EB, where a vehicle struck a pedestrian, later identified as Angela Cantu. Cantu was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The driver fled the scene.

Investigators say the suspect vehicle exited the 7-Eleven parking lot onto South 1st Street, turned north, and was last seen heading eastbound on the Ben White SVRD.

A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
