Austin Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Suspect in Aggravated Assault

The Austin Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit Detectives are reaching out to the public for help in identifying a suspect connected to an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon that took place in the 300 block of Brazos Street. The incident occurred on Monday, September 4, 2023, at approximately 9:12 p.m.

According to law enforcement officials, the suspect, whose image was captured on surveillance video, was observed on San Jacinto Boulevard shortly before attempting to draw the attention of two individuals on Brazos Street. The victims reported to the police that he pointed a handgun at them as they walked past an alley on Brazos Street. In response, the victims quickly fled from the scene, while the suspect departed through the alley.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • A white or Hispanic male
  • Aged between 30 to 40 years
  • Possessing a medium to heavy build
  • Armed with a handgun
  • Last seen wearing a bright lime green t-shirt, red shorts, a black ball cap, a black facemask, black shoes, and a gray/black backpack
  • Possibly known to frequent the downtown area
