Austin Police Investigate Four Fatal Traffic Incidents, Seek Public Assistance
The Austin Police Department (APD) is investigating four traffic fatalities that occurred over the past few weeks and is seeking information from the public to aid in the investigations.
- December 4, 2024 – East Koenig Lane
At approximately 11:18 p.m., APD Officers responded to a single-vehicle collision in the 500 block of East Koenig Lane. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Samuel J. Rodriguez Jr., was pronounced deceased at the scene. - December 6, 2024 – Rutland Drive
At approximately 3:50 a.m., APD Officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian and a single vehicle in the 1400 block of Rutland Drive. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on-site, was cooperative, and showed no signs of impairment. - November 23, 2024 – West Koenig Lane & Allandale Road
At approximately 5:38 p.m., APD Officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle at the intersection of West Koenig Lane and Allandale Road. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and later died on December 6, 2024, at 1:53 a.m. The driver remained on scene, was cooperative, and was not impaired. - December 9, 2024 – E Riverside Dr. & Clubview Ave.
At approximately 6:08 p.m., APD Officers responded to a crash between two vehicles at the intersection of E Riverside Dr. and Clubview Ave. One of the vehicle’s passengers, 62-year-old Regina Natalie Reyes, was transported to a hospital and later pronounced deceased. Both drivers remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
