On Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:12 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a burglary call in the 900 block of West 21st Street in the West Campus area. Visitors from El Paso, Texas, who were staying at an Airbnb, returned to find suspects inside stealing their belongings. The suspects fled in a vehicle.

The victims tracked one of their stolen items nearby, where officers later located the suspect vehicle. While the suspects were initially gone, they later returned and were detained by police along with a third person who had arrived to pick them up.

While detaining the suspects, officers were alerted to a possible female overdose victim inside the residence. A welfare check revealed a woman going in and out of consciousness. She was transported to a local hospital by Austin-Travis County EMS, where she reported being drugged and sexually assaulted.

Inside the apartment, officers observed items consistent with drug production, along with restraints and other materials supporting the victim’s statements. Detectives from APD’s Burglary, Sex Crimes, and Narcotics units, along with the DEA Task Force and APD’s Clandestine Lab Team, responded to continue the investigation.

The following individuals were arrested:

  • Octavius Jackson, 36 – Possession of a Controlled Substance, Warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Latasha Fletcher, 36 – Possession of a Controlled Substance, Burglary of Residence
  • Calvin Guyton, 32 – Burglary of Residence
  • James Sailors, 40 – Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon, Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance

APD credited the coordinated efforts of multiple divisions and federal partners for ensuring the swift detention of suspects and the protection of the victim.
