Austin Authorities Seek Hit-and-Run Suspect After Man Dragged by Pickup Truck

AUSTIN, TX – Austin police are investigating a hit-and-run after a man was struck and dragged by a pickup truck while loading his work trailer in East Austin.

The incident occurred Friday, October 24, 2025, in the 6500 block of Eastgate Road near the 183 toll road. Preliminary reports indicate the victim was struck by a dark, four-door pickup truck and dragged several yards underneath the vehicle. The driver did not stop or render aid, leaving the victim with serious injuries.

Investigators said the pickup was traveling on the southbound service road of Ed Bluestein Boulevard (US Highway 183) before turning onto Eastgate Road, where the collision occurred. The vehicle then continued south on Smith Road. Authorities believe the suspect may work in the Smith Road area.

The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored, four-door pickup truck.
