Harris County, Texas – A wanted felon was arrested Tuesday afternoon after leading deputies on a brief foot chase through a southeast Houston apartment complex.

On October 7, 2025, around noon, deputies with Constable Jerry Garcia’s Special Operations Unit were conducting surveillance in a high-crime area following multiple complaints of illegal activity. During the operation, a detective in an unmarked vehicle spotted a man walking out of an apartment complex in the 8500 block of Broadway Street with a firearm visible in his waistband and an extended magazine.

As deputies moved in to investigate, the man, later identified as 26-year-old Alfred Lucious, ran into a nearby apartment complex and jumped a fence. Deputies quickly lost sight of him and called for backup.

The Constable’s Office Special Operations Unit, patrol deputies, the Houston Police Department, and HPD’s helicopter FOX established a perimeter and began searching the area. A Precinct 2 K9 unit was deployed and soon alerted to a backyard behind the apartment complex. Deputies cleared the property and found Lucious hiding beside a home, where he was taken into custody without further incident.

Investigators later learned Lucious had two outstanding felony warrants: one for Aggravated Assault and another for Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance. He now faces an additional felony charge for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Constable Jerry Garcia commended his deputies for their swift action and thanked the Houston Police Department for their assistance.

“The teamwork and quick response by everyone involved ensured a dangerous individual was safely taken off our streets,” Garcia said.
