Abilene Man Shot and Killed in Apartment Complex; Police Seek Suspect

On Friday, February 7, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police responded to reports of multiple gunshots at the Cedar Creek apartment complex located in the 1900 block of Denton St., Abilene. Witnesses reported hearing the shots and observing a vehicle fleeing the scene.

Upon arrival, officers secured the area and discovered 46-year-old Ramiel Sanders of Abilene outside one of the buildings, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.

The suspect(s) fled before police arrived, with witnesses describing a male suspect leaving in a grey-colored truck. Authorities are actively searching for the driver of the truck and any other individuals who may have been involved.

Police confirmed that the two parties involved were known to each other and that this was not a random act of violence.
