On March 15, 2025, deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, working alongside the El Paso County Constable’s Office Precinct 6, arrested a man who fled from law enforcement during a traffic stop.

At approximately 1:57 a.m., a deputy with Constable Precinct 6 observed a white Ford F-150 failing to maintain a single lane while traveling northbound on N. Zaragoza Road. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Jose Manuel Saldivar Jr., refused to comply and fled at a high rate of speed.

For public safety reasons, deputies ended the pursuit but continued investigating. Officers later located Saldivar’s registered address and, with assistance from a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper, responded to the residence. At approximately 3:00 a.m., deputies made contact with Saldivar and arrested him for Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle.

El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte commended the cooperation between agencies, stating, “I’m grateful to Constable Javier Garcia of Precinct 6 and his team for their collaboration. This is an example of crime suppression operations working effectively to remove dangerous individuals from our streets. We will continue to work together to ensure the safety of our community.”

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office continues to emphasize proactive crime-fighting initiatives in partnership with local law enforcement agencies.
