One Dead, One Injured in Shooting Far North Houston; Possible Drug Connection

On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., deputies from the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office responded to reports of gunfire in the 700 block of Barren Springs. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased 40-year-old male victim lying along the roadway. Witnesses reported hearing a disturbance followed by gunfire, with vehicles seen speeding away from the scene.

Simultaneously, a 22-year-old male victim arrived at a local hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Detectives later determined that this second victim was connected to the shooting on Barren Springs.

Investigators believe the incident may be drug-related, but the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. No charges have been filed as of yet, and the identity of the deceased victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
