Man Surrenders After 8-Hour Standoff in Montgomery

Jesus Fabian Cintron-Rios, 34, surrendered to authorities on February 25, 2025, after an eight-hour standoff at a residence in the 800 block of Lake View Drive in Montgomery, TX.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCTXSheriff) Deputies responded to a family violence call at the residence at approximately 11:40 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Cintron-Rios had barricaded himself inside the home with weapons.

All family members were safely removed from the residence.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 5 deputies, Montgomery Police Department, Montgomery ISD police, Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the scene.

After an extended standoff, Cintron-Rios surrendered due to the efforts of negotiators and mental health units on scene.

Cintron-Rios was medically evaluated, cleared of injuries, and transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where he is charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
