Guatemalan National Wanted for Murder Arrested in Fort Worth

A 37-year-old Guatemalan man, wanted for murder in his home country, was arrested in Fort Worth on January 31, 2025, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Dennis Alexander Valenzuela was taken into custody at his residence. ICE officials confirmed that Valenzuela entered the United States illegally near Hidalgo, Texas, on June 16, 2021, without proper inspection or admission by an immigration officer. On the same date, U.S. Border Patrol agents encountered Valenzuela and issued a Notice to Appear under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
Details about the murder charge in Guatemala have not been disclosed. Valenzuela is currently being held at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, pending removal proceedings.
