Two Teens Arrested After Weapon Disturbance at Harris County Apartment Complex

On Friday, November 22, 2024, Harris County Precinct 2 Constable Deputies responded to a weapons disturbance at an apartment complex located at 10903 Highland Meadow Village Drive in southeast Harris County near Scarsdale Boulevard and Beamer Road.

The call was initiated by a resident who reported seeing young individuals carrying a gun and hearing a loud pop. Deputies quickly arrived at the scene and obtained clothing descriptions of the suspects.

One individual, identified as 19-year-old Trevon Finley, was swiftly detained. A second suspect, identified as 17-year-old Jumaury McKenzie, fled on foot through the apartment complex and onto Beamer Road. Deputies pursued and apprehended McKenzie.

During the investigation, deputies observed that both males had been in possession of a firearm. With assistance from Precinct 2’s K9 unit, Hero, a firearm was located on the roof of a washroom building along the path McKenzie had taken.

Finley was charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon. McKenzie, who was charged as an adult, faces charges of unlawful carrying of a weapon and evading arrest on foot. Both suspects were transported to the Harris County Jail without incident.
