One Dead in Fatal Crash on Airline Drive, Young Man Arrested for DWI

Authorities are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6600 Airline Drive around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 10.

The male victim’s identity is awaiting confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. Preliminary reports indicate that a white Ford F-150 pickup truck was heading southbound on Airline Drive when it collided with a white Chevrolet Impala traveling eastbound on East Parker Road. The impact of the collision forced the Impala into a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, which was stationary at a red light in the northbound lanes of Airline Drive.

Houston Fire Department paramedics declared the driver of the Impala deceased at the scene.

The occupants of the Silverado, a 33-year-old male driver, and a 37-year-old female passenger, escaped the collision without injuries.

Authorities took immediate action following the incident. Brayan Barrera, 20, the male driver of the Ford, exhibited signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested. He now faces charges of driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #4.

The investigation is ongoing.
