Houston Police Investigate Woman’s Death in the Hobby Airport Area

HOUSTON, Texas – Houston police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old woman found inside an apartment at 8405 Broadway Street on November 4. The 8405 Broadway Street death investigation remains open while investigators wait on further forensic testing.

Police identified the woman as Ebony Kirt-Ethridge. The department’s release said her identification is pending notification of family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Patrol officers went to an apartment complex at the address about 4:25 p.m. on a person down call. A family member had found the woman dead inside an apartment, according to Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective D. Garcia of the HPD Homicide Division.

Houston Fire Department personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.

No signs of trauma in preliminary autopsy

Preliminary autopsy results from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences did not show signs of trauma to her body, police said. The investigation is pending further forensic testing.

Police have not released a cause or manner of death. The release did not say whether investigators suspect foul play.
