Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting at Sandpiper Drive Apartments

Houston police are investigating a fatal shooting at an apartment complex at 12500 Sandpiper Drive. Officers responded about 10:05 p.m. Monday, October 26.

Police said the victim, a man believed to be in his 40s, was found in the complex’s communal area. He had at least one gunshot wound and died at the scene.

What police know so far

HPD patrol officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the complex and met Houston Fire Department personnel there. Officers learned an altercation led to the shooting, according to HPD Homicide Division investigators.

Police have not released information on a suspect or a motive.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has not yet identified the man. Investigators are waiting to notify his family first.
