Harris County Man Arrested on Child Sexual Abuse Material Charges Following Search Warrant

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A 37-year-old man was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, after Harris County sheriff’s investigators executed a search warrant at a residence as part of an investigation involving child sexual abuse material.

Gustavo Paredes Castro, 37, was taken into custody and charged with three counts involving the possession, distribution and promotion of child pornography, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

The investigation was conducted by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence where Castro, the target of the investigation, was located.

During the search, authorities recovered child sexual abuse material, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Castro was arrested at the residence and subsequently booked into the Harris County Jail.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office District 6 Crime Reduction Unit and the Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which includes Houston Police Department ICAC investigators, assisted with the operation.

Authorities have not disclosed the location of the residence, how the investigation began or the number of images or videos recovered during the search.

Castro is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
