Flock Camera Alert Helps Conroe Police Arrest Suspect After Apartment Complex Stabbing

CONROE, Texas – A 40-year-old man was arrested after a stabbing at a Conroe apartment complex after police used license plate reader technology to track a suspect vehicle that had initially left the city.

Conroe Police officers responded on July 25, 2026, to a disturbance involving weapons at an apartment complex in the 2000 block of North Loop 336 West.

When officers arrived, they secured the scene and found a victim suffering from a stab wound and significant blood loss.

An officer immediately began providing emergency medical aid, packing the victim’s wound and maintaining pressure to control the bleeding until EMS personnel arrived.

Other officers secured the area, collected evidence and began gathering information to identify and locate the person suspected in the stabbing.

Suspect Vehicle Tracked After Leaving Conroe

As the investigation developed, officers identified a vehicle believed to be connected to the suspect.

Police used the Flock license plate reader camera system and determined that the vehicle had left Conroe.

The investigation continued, and officers were later alerted when a Flock camera detected the suspect vehicle back inside the city.

The information was immediately relayed to officers, who located the vehicle and arrested Darrell Dill, 40, without incident.

Conroe Police credited a combination of the license plate reader system, investigative work and rapid communication between officers with helping locate the suspect.

Police did not provide additional information about what led to the stabbing, the relationship between Dill and the victim, the victim’s condition after receiving medical treatment, or the specific criminal charges filed against Dill.
