Houston Police Arrest Two Suspects in March Fatal Shooting of 25-Year-Old Man

HOUSTON, Texas – Houston police have arrested two men in connection with the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man in southeast Houston earlier this year.

According to the Houston Police Department, 29-year-old Christian Washington has been charged with murder in the 185th State District Court, while 21-year-old Jacobi Burrell has been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon in the 230th State District Court.

The charges stem from the March 21 shooting death of 25-year-old Isaiah Holiday.

Police said officers were patrolling the area around 6:35 p.m. when they heard multiple gunshots. Officers immediately responded to the 7440 block of Calhoun Road, where they found Holiday lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers rendered first aid until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived. Holiday was pronounced dead at the scene.

As the investigation progressed, homicide detectives identified a person of interest and released a surveillance photograph to the public on March 26 in an effort to generate leads.

Detectives later identified Washington and Burrell as suspects in the case.

Burrell was arrested on June 27 and charged for his alleged role in the investigation. Washington was arrested on July 15 and charged with murder. Both men were booked into the Harris County Jail.

Houston police have not released additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting or whether additional charges are expected.

The investigation remains ongoing.
