EL PASO, Texas — Two women have been arrested following an alleged vehicle assault during a child custody exchange in the Sparks community, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded on March 31, 2026, to the 100 block of Dickens Road for a reported aggravated assault in progress. Upon arrival, victims told deputies that 24-year-old Ebony Martinez and 24-year-old Araceli Uzeta became aggressive during the exchange.

Investigators determined the suspects used their vehicle to intentionally ram the victims’ vehicle multiple times during a brief chase through the area. Authorities said a 2-year-old child was inside the suspects’ vehicle at the time, placing the child in imminent danger.

Both suspects fled the scene before deputies arrived, and warrants were issued for their arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Endangering a Child.

Deputies later located Uzeta along with the vehicle involved, and she was taken into custody. Martinez was also located and arrested without incident.

Uzeta was booked into the El Paso County Detention Center on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Endangering a Child, with a total bond set at $60,000. Martinez faces the same charges and is being held without bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
