Missing Juvenile Recovered in Montgomery County Human Trafficking Investigation; Two Women Arrested

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — On March 9th, Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office recovered a missing juvenile and arrested two suspects during a human trafficking investigation, authorities said.

The investigation began while detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Division VICE Unit were working a missing juvenile case. During the investigation, detectives discovered online advertisements on prostitution related websites that depicted the missing juvenile alongside an unidentified adult female.

Investigators arranged contact with the individuals and set up a meeting at a hotel in Montgomery County.

With assistance from Texas Department of Public Safety special agents, detectives located a vehicle connected to the suspects. Authorities found two adult females and the missing juvenile inside the vehicle.

Following the investigation, the two adults were identified as Norma Lewis, 20, and Niasia Harrell, 20, both from Houston.

Both women were arrested and charged with Trafficking of a Child, a first degree felony. They were transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

Officials said the juvenile was safely recovered and immediately provided medical care and support services before being released to the child’s parents.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to protecting children and pursuing those involved in human trafficking.
