Montgomery County Deputy Airlifted After Four-Vehicle Crash on FM 2296

A Montgomery County Precinct 1 deputy was airlifted to a Houston hospital Tuesday, February 10, 2026, after being involved in a four-vehicle crash while traveling northbound on FM 2296, authorities said.

The deputy, whose name has not been released, was transported by Life Flight and is listed in stable condition.

One additional driver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Two other drivers were treated at the scene by emergency medical services and released.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is leading the accident reconstruction and investigation. Officials said any questions regarding the investigation should be directed to DPS.

Constable Cash and the Precinct 1 Constable’s Office expressed support for those involved and thanked first responders, including Walker County Emergency Medical Services, the New Waverly Fire Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety, for their response. The office also acknowledged the agencies that have reached out in support of the injured deputy.
