19-Year-Old Arrested, Charged With Murder After Teen Found Dead in El Paso County

FABENS, Texas – Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check in the Fabens area on January 29, 2026, after reports of a person seeking help while covered in blood and possibly armed with a handgun.

While deputies were responding, they learned that a gunshot victim had already been transported to Del Sol Medical Center, where the individual was pronounced deceased. The victim was later identified as 17-year-old Andrey Martinez.

The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and confirmed the incident occurred in Fabens, Texas. Through the course of the investigation, deputies located and detained a 19-year-old suspect.

Detectives arrested Kelvin Lee-Armenta and charged him with Murder. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and is being held without bond.

The investigation remains active, and additional details are expected to be released as they become available.
