Fugitive Wanted Out of Michigan Captured in Brazoria After Foot Pursuit

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX – The Brazoria Police Department has arrested a fugitive who had been missing for nearly three years and was wanted on a parole violation tied to weapons charges out of Michigan.
According to Brazoria police, investigators received information from the Michigan Department of Corrections and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force regarding Robert Jeffrey Hill, who had been unaccounted for since January 16, 2023. Authorities believed Hill was in the City of Brazoria due to previous connections to the area.
Brazoria Police Department detectives launched an investigation that included research and interviews with individuals familiar with Hill’s possible whereabouts. During the investigation, detectives learned Hill may have been staying at an abandoned residence. The search continued over several days as officers worked to confirm his location.
On January 18, 2026, Officer Veronica Saenz with the Brazoria Police Department, assisted by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, located Hill within the city. Hill attempted to flee on foot, but after a brief pursuit, officers took him into custody without incident.
Hill was transported to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office Jail and booked on a charge of evading arrest. Authorities confirmed that he will be extradited back to Michigan to address the outstanding parole violation and weapons-related charges.
The Brazoria Police Department praised the officers involved for their persistence and investigative efforts and thanked the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office for its swift assistance and professionalism during the arrest.
