Splendora Police Arrest Two in Early-Morning Whataburger Robbery

In the early hours of Friday, December 5, 2025, Splendora Police responded to a reported robbery at the Whataburger on 14505 Old Highway 59. Multiple callers reported two armed individuals inside the restaurant, and that a firearm had been discharged.
Officers arrived within one minute and found employees physically confronting the suspects. Police quickly intervened, secured the scene, and took both suspects into custody without further injury. A firearm was recovered inside the restaurant.
Investigation revealed that one suspect was a former employee of the location, while the second was a family member. Evidence shows the suspects displayed a firearm and initiated a confrontation with employees during which the weapon was discharged.
The suspects, identified as 20-year-old Alexander Slater and 40-year-old Alicia Farrell, were charged with Aggravated Robbery and transported to Montgomery County Jail. Additional charges may be considered as the investigation continues.
Chief Wally Wieghat commended both the rapid response of officers and the bravery of employees, emphasizing that swift action prevented further harm.
The investigation remains ongoing.
