Two Men Killed After Posing as Police in Houston Home Shooting

Houston, TX — The fatal shooting of two men at a residence on 4000 Bellnole Drive around 11 p.m. on Friday, August 22, is under investigation and will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.

The victims, ages 28 and 36, have not yet been publicly identified pending confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to Houston Police Department Homicide Detectives J. Caten and K. Stringer, two men wearing face coverings, tactical vests, and displaying badges approached the home, claiming to have a warrant for the residents. Both were armed with firearms. An exchange of words escalated into gunfire, and both men posing as officers were struck by gunfire from the homeowner.

The residents called 911 immediately following the shooting. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced both men deceased at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that the residents are cooperating fully with the investigation and emphasized that the deceased were impersonating law enforcement. The case will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
