Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at Richmond Avenue Apartment

Houston police have arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with a fatal shooting at 15155 Richmond Avenue on Monday evening, August 18.

The suspect has been charged with murder and referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation Authorities. Because the suspect is a juvenile, his name and photo are not being released.

The victim, a 22-year-old male, was found unresponsive inside an apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Police said the shooting followed an altercation between the victim and the suspect. The suspect fled the scene on foot but later returned, where officers detained him.

The case is being handled by the HPD Homicide Division and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
