Brazoria County Man Arrested in Sweeny Business Shooting
On July 31, 2025, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported shooting at a local business on the 8000 block of FM 524 in Sweeny, Texas. A bank employee was shot while opening the business and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim reported seeing an older model white Ford F-150 parked on the shoulder of FM 524 just before the shooting. Investigators identified 37-year-old Kasey Martin of Sweeny as the suspect.
Martin was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He was booked into the Brazoria County Jail with bond set at $25,000.
The Sheriff’s Office thanked the community for their assistance during the investigation.
