Man Found Shot to Death in Willis Home; Homicide Investigation Underway

On August 2, 2025, at approximately 4:20 a.m., deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Willis Police Department responded to a welfare check at a residence in the 500 block of East Marlin Street in Willis, Texas.

Upon entering the home, first responders discovered a deceased male with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 64-year-old Anthony Scott.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, along with Crime Scene Investigators, the Willis Police Department, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, and Death Investigators from the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office, are actively investigating the incident as a homicide.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information is available for release at this time.
